WATCH: Horror grips French theme park as slingshot ride cable snaps

A 24-year-old woman suffered a broken leg after the cable of their slingshot ride in a theme park in France snapped and sent the cage hurtling in the ride’s support column.

The accident occurred at the Luna Park, at Cap d’Agde in France last August 7, French news site The Local reported.

In the video, it can be seen that one of the elastic cable of the “Fifth Element” ride snapped as the slingshot ride went down. Gasps and cries from onlookers can be heard in the video.

After the elastic cable snapped, the ride bobbed up and down until it hit a support column.

Two persons, whose identities were not revealed, were left suspended in the air for an hour.

Theme park authorities blamed the ride’s manufacturer for the “defect” which caused the accident.

The video has been viewed 2,227,682 as of posting time. AJH
