Sea gives up bodies of brothers in Antique

ILOILO CITY — The bodies of two brothers were found Sunday morning, two days after they were carried by strong waves while swimming in Anini-y town, Antique province.

The body of Rexon Enson, 12, was found at 2 a.m. in the waters off Barangay Nato by fishermen, said SPO3 Rafael Peñales, Anini-y deputy police chief.

Two hours later, another fisherman recovered the body of Rexon’s older brother, Reniel Kirk, 14, off Barangay Sagwa.

The two brothers were with three friends when they went swimming off the coastal village of Batuan, Anini-y on Friday.

Peñales said the five friends were carried by strong waves, however, fishermen who saw the incident managed to rescue John Cyrus Magbanua, 12; Moises Sasi, 13; and Elmer Nianggar, 12, all of Barangay Butuan.

The fishermen failed to rescue the Enson brothers who were carried off by a strong current.
