Speaker Belmonte in hospital with dengue
SPEAKER Feliciano Belmonte is confined in the hospital because of dengue.
In a text message on Thursday, his daughter, Quezon City Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte, said her father was hospitalized at St. Luke’s Medical Center.
She said the Speaker’s illness was nothing serious and that he is doing well in recovering from the infection.
“The Speaker has been under the weather since Monday morning but continued with work until he ran a high fever later that same night. We assure everyone it is nothing serious and he is doing well under the care of his doctors at St Luke’s Medical Center,” Vice Mayor Belmonte said in a statement.
The statement added:
“Congressional Spouses Foundation, Inc. President and Quezon City Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte, the Speaker’s daughter, said he is confined at the hospital to manage his dengue infection and so that he may recover faster under excellent care and with complete rest. He expects to be back to performing his duties very soon.”
