While still  undecided  about  the 2016 elections,  Senator  Grace Poe said  she has  already started   preparing her  platforms of government  in case she  decides to run for a higher post  next year.

Poe said  she has no definite date yet when to make the decision  but said  it would probably happen next month or before the  deadline for the filing  of candidacy  in October, 2015.

So when Local Government Secretary  Manuel “Mar” Roxas II personally asks her to be his running mate, the senator said her answer would  still be the same.

“My answer is still the same, that I’m still  thinking what position  or if I would  run in 2016 because this is not easy,” Poe told reporters in Filipino on Wednesday.

“But  I am also telling  you that  just in case, we’re already preparing  the platform of government, the  promises to the people and until it’s completed, I can’t  say yet because you have to  study  very carefully how you can   fulfill all those  promises,” she added.

Asked if she was preparing for her possible presidential run, she said, “I was  telling you, I’m  praying and  preparing   just in case.”

“My mom told me,  all of these preparations won’t be put to waste  even if I decide to stay in the Senate because it is still  public service,” she said.

Although Poe was the voters’ top choice for president based on the latest  survey of Pulse Asia, she is still being wooed by the administration to be the running mate of Roxas, who had been anointed by President Benigno Aquino III to be his successor.

On national television Wednesday morning, Roxas himself  invited Poe to be his  running mate.

Reacting to the invitation, Poe said she was always willing to meet with Roxas, saying it would be better to discuss the matter in person.

“Of course, in person, you can be frank. And you wouldn’t have to think about the impression of other people,” said Poe.
