Cops bust marijuana ‘plantation’ in Laguna
SAN PEDRO CITY—An 18-year-old construction worker was arrested after the police found marijuana plants in his backyard in this city on Tuesday morning.
Senior Supt. Florendo Saligao, Laguna police director, said in a text message that police raided the house of Randy Corporal and found 10 marijuana plants on his backyard in an upland area of Barangay (village) GSIS around 7 a.m. The house was not readily accessible to his neighbors.
While the police found only 10 plants of marijuana, Police Officer 2 Johnny de la Torre, one of the arresting policemen, believed Corporal had a “plantation” for the prohibited plant.
“We found traces that about 30 other marijuana plants had been freshly uprooted,” he said.
De la Torre said Corporal, who lived by himself, must have been tipped off days prior the raid.
Also recovered from him were six plastic sachets that contained marijuana and suspected “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride) paraphernalia, the police said.
