Maynilad workers dig up skeleton in Manila
It could have been a scene taken right out of a horror movie.
Employees of a water firm who were checking water connections on Saturday night got the scare of their lives when they recovered part of a human skeleton.
Maynilad Water Services employee Dennis Deniega told the police that he and his other coworkers were repairing a waterline on Ilaya corner Padre Herrera Streets in Tondo, Manila, at around 11 p.m. when they made the grisly discovery.
According to Deniega, they found a portion of a human skull with the teeth intact and other bones, case investigator PO2 Jose Gumilan of the Manila Police District (MPD) homicide section said in a report.
The human remains were brought to St. Ivan Funeral Homes for safekeeping.
At press time, MPD homicide investigators said they have yet to identify the person whose skeleton was found at the site.
