POLICE are investigating a bullet hole at the satellite office of Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. along Roxas Boulevard, the senator told reporters on Monday.
“They (investigators) are still there in the office…I’m hoping it will be just a stray bullet. Nagkataon lang, hindi naman siguro connected dito sa aming ginagawa,” said Marcos, who is leading the deliberations on the proposed Bangsamoro Basic Law as chairman of the Senate committee on local government.
(They [investigators] are still there in the office…I’m hoping it will be just a stray bullet. It just happened, I hope it’s not connected with what we’re doing here.)
A senator’s staff member said the bullet hole was discovered Sunday.
He said he was taking the incident “seriously” as he revealed another shooting incident that occurred in the same location several months ago.
“Well, we had another incident of this before when one of our vehicles in the same location was also shot at and broke a widow but that was many months ago,” he said.
“That’s why I’ m taking it seriously, that’s why I’m having it properly investigated…” the senator added.
Marcos hoped that the two incidents had nothing to do with the BBL deliberations.
“Hind naman siguro , huwag naman sana (I don’t think so, I hope not) ,” he said. “Kasi kahit naman sino pro or against sa BBL, alam naman nila wala naman magiging epekto (because even if you’re pro or against [BBL] it has no bearing) so I don’t think anyone is foolish enough to think that it will make any difference to anyone,” he further said.
