WOMAN FOUND HANGING DEAD
A WOMAN was found hanging dead in her home in barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City.
Angel Saballa, 42, was found by her son suspended from a beam of her room with a nylon rope tied around her neck, said police.
Police said it was the seventh reported case of suicide in Cebu City in the last two weeks.
Police said there were no signs of foul play in the woman’s death.

ARMED CANADIAN NABBED
A CANADIAN national was arrested after he was found carrying a firearm in barangay Capitol Site, Cebu City, on Tuesday afternoon.
Police said the Canadian introduced himself as John Pope, 55.
Operatives of the Special Weapons and Tactics went to a resto bar in the barangay to respond to a report that a foreigner was harassing customers there.
When policemen arrived, Pope tried to run away with a gun tucked in his waist.

LAPU, CEBU CITY FIRES
A HOUSE was razed and two others were damaged in two fire incidents in Lapu-Lapu and Cebu cities yesterday.
Investigators said P350,000 in property was destroyed in the fire that struck the house of retired colonel Oscar Cornelio.
Investigators said Cornelio and his family were watching television when an explosion occurred inside their house at 1:35 p.m.
Investigators said faulty electrical wiring may have caused the fire.
In barangay Hipodromo, Cebu City, a fire that broke out at 4 a.m. damaged the houses of Ailene Caronillo and Felisima Carbonillo.
