Aquino visits typhoon-hit provinces

MANILA, Philippines – President Benigno Aquino III visited typhoon-stricken provinces on Wednesday, almost a week after two devastated most of Luzon, according to Radyo Inquirer 990AM.

Aquino, who delayed his visit to affected areas allegedly for security reasons first visited Tarlac before going to Bulacan and then to Pampanga, the report said.

The president inspected the Rio Chico Bridge that connects La Paz, Tarlac and Zaragoza, Nueva Ecija which was damaged by “Pedring” (international name: Nesat) and “Quiel” (international name: Nalgae) last week.

As of posting time, Aquino is at the evacuation centers in Calumpit, Bulacan. He is also expected to meet with the Region 3’s disaster council at the Hiyas Convention Center in Malolos.

Aquino will go to the Regional Health Unit 2 in La Paz Community Hospital and evacuees at the La Paz town plaza in Pampanga.

He is also scheduled to go to San Filipe, San Fernando and receive a briefing on the proposed Phase 3 of Pinatubo Hazard Mitigation Project.
