Hours before President Benigno Aquino III’s final State of the Nation Address (Sona), Malacañang said the administration deserves the high ratings given by analysts weighing in on the promises of the administration.

However, Communications Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr. admitted that not all promises have been fulfilled.

(Based on the assessment on the administration’s so-called ‘report card,’ I noticed that the findings of the analysts tackled issues that have already been addressed.)

Coloma said that while Palace cannot claim that everything has been “completely accomplished,” Aquino still has a year left in service.

(But based on what I have read, most of the commentaries said the government deserves a high grade because of the enormity of the problems it has faced and the substantial number of promises that it has accomplished.)

Coloma emphasized that Aquino wants the public involved in the Sona since it is also a report of the people.

“The President gives importance to the participation of the people in shaping their future,” the secretary said.
