A 5.2-magnitude earthquake struck off Northern Samar on Saturday afternoon, state seismologists said.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the quake hit 55 kilometers northeast of Catarman town at 4:41 p.m.
The quake, which was tectonic in origin, had a depth of 10 kilometers.
Phivolcs said Intensity I was felt in Casiguran and Cabid-an town in Sorsogon.
The agency said no reports of immediate damages were recorded but it advised the public to expect aftershocks.
