PNP assures beleaguered INC members of help
The Philippine National Police on Thursday said it would readily give assistance to the beleaguered members of Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) involved in an alleged abduction incident if there would be a formal complaint filed before the police.
“The PNP will always provide support to anyone who seeks assistance especially in those cases. But there should be an aggrieved party who should file a case,” Chief Supt. Wilben Mayor, PNP spokesperson, told reporters.
Mayor said the PNP would forward the case to its antikidnapping unit “for details and documentation.”
When asked to give a statement, Senior Supt. Roberto Fajardo, chief of the PNP Anti-Kidnapping Group, said his team would act on the incident once a complaint was filed with the police.
The spokesperson added the PNP would also verify the reports and the video uploaded on Youtube on Wednesday night by INC executive minister Eduardo Manalo’s mother and brother, who claimed there were threats to their lives.
Felix “Angel” Nathaniel Villanueva Manalo and his mother Cristina “Tenny” Villanueva Manalo said their “lives are in danger.”
