SEMIRARA ISLAND, Antique, Philippines — The municipality of Caluya and the Semirara Mining and Power Corp. (SMPC) on Wednesday officially declared the last missing worker in Friday’s mine pit accident on Semirara Island in Antique a fatality.

The lower limb of Danilo Bayhon, 56, a foreman, was discovered, recovered and identified early Wednesday, according to a statement released by the Caluya municipal information office. He was then declared the ninth fatality in the July 17 collapse of part of the northern Panian pit.
