ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines — Temojen Tulawie, a former councilor of Jolo, Sulu, who was accused of being behind a bombing in that province, has been released from jail.

Lawyer Glocelito Jayma said Tulawie was acquitted of multiple frustrated murder charges, and was ordered freed.

Sulu Governor Abdusakur Tan filed the case against Tulawie for allegedly masterminding a bomb attack against him on May 13, 2009.
