Rap readied vs 2 men caught with drugs
The Manila Police District’s (MPD) District Anti-Illegal Drugs Division (DAID) is already preparing the case to be filed against 2 men arrested in a buy-bust operation in Ermita, Manila, Friday that yielded P500,000 worth of “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride).
Arrested were Mohammad Baman and Amerudin Canapi. They will be subjected to an inquest proceeding Friday.
An inquest is a summary investigation conducted by a public prosecutor in a criminal case involving a person arrested and detained without the benefit of a warrant of arrest for the purpose of determining whether the person should remain under custody and be charged in court.
Chief Inspector Glen Gonzales of DAID said a case for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the two.
Authorities seized 100 grams of shabu worth P500,000 during the buy bust operation Friday morning.
Meanwhile, Baman will be facing a separate case for the death of Police Officer 3 Rolando Flores of the Manila Traffic. Flores was shot to death along Legarda in Manila on November, 2014.
