MANILA, Philippines — The National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) has given the go-signal to three more development projects, which have a combined budget of more than P3.84 billion, Malacañang said.
In a statement, Presidential Communications Secretary Herminio Coloma said on Wednesday that President Aquino, chairman of the NEDA board, presided over the body’s meeting on Wednesday afternoon.
The meeting focused on “vital public infrastructure projects that seek to spur further economic development.”
Coloma, also head of the Presidential Communications Operations Office, or PCOO was referring to the following projects:
* the P2.04-billion Ninoy Aquino International Airport Expressway Project’s Phase II, which involves the “transfer of alignment from the Domestic Road to the Parañaque River-Electrical Road in one section of this ongoing project”;
* the P223-million Daang Hari-South Luzon Expressway Link Road Project of the Department of Public Works and Highways, which involves “improvements of access to the SLEx road network,”; and
* the P1.58-billion Civil Registry System Information Technology Project of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), which calls for the “computerization of the civil registry operations of the PSA. “The project is “designed to collect, store, maintain and manage civil registry documents and the specimen signatures of all city and municipal registrars using imaging technology. “It will also “include production of vital statistics and will make the civil registry services available nationwide through the CRS outlets and other authorized partners” of the agency.
Meanwhile, the NEDA board set for further discussions the Bonifacio Global City-Ortigas Road Link Project, which would decongest the Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA), Metro Manila’s busiest thoroughfare, and the C5 road. SFM
