Man shot dead at Digos City gathering

DIGOS CITY, Davao del Sur, Philippines – A man attending a pre-Eid’l Fitr meeting involving Muslims at the Rizal Park here was killed in an attack by still unidentified men late Thursday.

Supt. Querubin Manalang, city police chief, said Rajolon Barotoc, 48, married and a resident of the Roxas Extension here, succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds.

Manalang said an initial investigation showed that two men approached the victim and pumped bullets into his body.

The identities of the killers and their motive were uncertain as of yet, Manalang said.
