LEGAZPI CITY, Albay, Philippines — Members of the Philippine National Police recovered a stolen vehicle in Sta. Elena, Camarines Norte, Tuesday morning, police said.
Senior Supt. Florante Torres, chief of the Regional Highway Patrol Unit in Bicol, said the police, while conducting anti-carnapping operations at a checkpoint, spotted a white Mitsubishi Strada traveling the Maharlika Highway in Barangay Tabugon at around 9 a.m.
He said the pick-up, being driven by a certain Virgilio de los Santos of Pasig City, was included in the police’s list of wanted or stolen vehicles.
Torres said the vehicle, owned by Yves Peachy Azote Narvaza, was stolen while parked at the Robinsons Starmills in Pampanga in April 2007.
The vehicle was temporarily impounded at the Provincial Highway Patrol Team in Camarines Norte, while appropriate charges were being prepared for filing against De los Santos.
