In a statement obtained by Radyo Inquirer 990AM, Cabunoc said he volunteered to quit from his post.

“I have volunteered to vacate my post as Chief, PAO in order to allow the new CSAFP (Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines) to select a new set of talking heads. He has approved my request,” he said.

Cabunoc assumed his post as the PAO chief of the AFP on October 2014.

Army spokesman Lt. Col. Noel Detoyato will reportedly replace Cabunoc, who will be assigned to a special project in Davao concerning indigenous people or indigenous communities. IDL
