Typhoon “Falcon” (Chan-hon) has maintained its strength as it moves over the Philippine sea late Wednesday, the weather bureau said.
As of 10 p.m., “Falcon” was located 985 km east northeast of Basco, Batanes, with maximum sustained winds of 130 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 160 kph, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Wednesday in its 11 pm bulletin.
No public storm warning signal has been issued.
Pagasa said the estimated rainfall amount is from heavy to at times intense within the 300 km radius of the typhoon.
Fisherfolk are advised not to venture out over the seaboards of Luzon.
Pagasa added Tropical Storm “Egay” (international name “Linfa”) will continue to enhance the Southwest Monsoon and will bring moderate to occasionally heavy rains over the western section of Luzon.
The public and the disaster risk reduction and management council concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next bulletin to be issued at 11 a.m. Thursday. TVJ
