Following incessant monsoon rain in Metro Manila on Wednesday, at least 33 families were pre-emptively evacuated from creekside barangays in Quezon City.
As of 1:30 p.m., the Quezon City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (QCDRRMO) reported that 23 families from the Taniman area in Barangay Batasan Hills had been evacuated to the San Isidro chapel; while 10 families from Barangay Roxas had been evacuated to the arena covered court.

From noon to 1 p.m., the QCDRRMO declared a red alert flood warning, and advised evacuation for barangays along the Tullahan river, as well as in Fairview, Sta. Lucia, Sta. Monica, Gulod, San Bartolome, Greater Lagro and Nagkaisahang Nayon, Novaliches Proper, Baesa and Pasong Tamo.
This year alone, the Quezon City government has already invested P899.6 million for infrastructure and cleanup on waterways, to address flooding.
