Pagasa warns of flashfloods, landslides in Luzon
THE southwest monsoon in Luzon may trigger flashfloods and landslides as Typhoon Chan-hon (international name) nears the Philippine area of responsibility, the state weather bureau warned on Tuesday afternoon.
Monsoon rains will be experienced over the regions of Ilocos, Cordillera, Mimaropa and the provinces of Bataan and Zambales, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.
Occasional rains are expected over Metro Manila and the rest of Central Luzon.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated thunderstorms will prevail over the rest of the country.
Moderate to strong winds blowing from the southwest will prevail over the entire archipelago with moderate to rough seas.
Typhoon Chan-hon (international name) is expected to enter the Philippine area of responsibility on Tuesday night.
Article continues after this advertisementIt was last observed 1,495 kilometers east of Luzon, packing maximum sustained winds of 130 kilometers per hour near the center and gusts of up to 160 kph.

It will not have a direct to the country but it will enhance the southwest monsoon.
