Jinggoy on Zamoras: Don’t trust them, they’re ingrates

/ 09:45 PM July 06, 2015

Detained Senator Jose “Jinggoy” Estrada has joined the political clash against the Zamoras of San Juan, saying San Juan Representative Ronaldo Zamora and his son Vice Mayor Francis are ingrates.

“Ang mag-amang Zamora na iyan, parehong ingrato iyon, parehong ingrates, walang utang na loob iyan,” Estrada said in an ambush interview after his bail hearing from plunder over the pork barrel scam at the Sandiganbayan on Monday.

Estrada said he never trusted the Zamoras, adding that the elder Zamora did not support his first vice mayoralty bid. He also said Zamora supported his opponent when he ran for mayor.

“Sinabi ko as early as 1987, they would want to have control over San Juan by asking me, by pleading with me not to run for vice mayor when I first entered politics in San Juan. When I first ran for mayor, what did the elder Zamora do to me? He betrayed me. He supported another candidate after all the things that my dad did to him,” Estrada said.

He said Congressman and House minority leader Zamora only got into politics because of the help of his father former President Joseph Estrada.

“He was nothing, he was plucked out of obscurity by my father. My father told him to run for Congress. Kung hindi naman dahil sa tatay ko, he was just a creation of my father,” Estrada said.

“Yung mag-amang Zamora may mga hidden agenda iyan. That’s why inaapela ko sa aking mga kababayan sa San Juan, huwag masyadong maniniwala dito sa dalawang mag-ama,” Estrada said.

” Iyong elder Zamora hindi naman nagpapakita iyan eh. Ever since naging congressman iyan way back during the late 80s, hindi naman nagpapakita sa taong-bayan iyan,” he added.

The clash of the Estrada-Ejercito and Zamora clans erupted when San Juan vice mayor Francis Zamora accused the Estrada-Ejercitos of building a dynasty in San Juan come 2016.

Zamora said the clan met up at the Philippine National Police Custodial Center where Senator Estrada is detained to cook up the plot of sweeping all posts in San Juan — Gomez, 73, would seek reelection while Jinggoy’s daughter, Councilor Janella Estrada, would run for vice mayor and his wife Precy would seek a House seat.

Now Manila mayor Joseph Estrada started politics in San Juan as mayor in 1968. Senator JV is the son of Estrada and Mayor Guia. Jinggoy meanwhile is the son of Estrada and wife former senator Loi.
