Expect heavy rain in Metro, environs—Pagasa

A yellow rainfall alert was issued by the weather bureau over Metro Manila and nearby provinces on Monday morning.

Based on the heavy rainfall warning system of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration, a yellow rainfall advisory is when the expected rainfall amount is between 7.5 mm and 15 mm (heavy rains) within one hour and likely to continue.

Flooding is possible, Pagasa warned.

The rains are caused by the southwest monsoon enhanced by Tropical Storm Egay (Linfa).

Light to moderate rains affecting Batangas, Laguna, Cavite, Rizal, Tarlac, Quezon, Nueva Ecija which may persist within three hours.

Orange rainfall warning was raised in Zambales.

Intense rains or 15 to 30 mm are observed in an hour and is expected to continue in the next two hours.
