No classes in San Fernando City, La Union due to floods
CLASSES in all levels in San Fernando City, La Union are suspended on Monday, July 6, due to heavy rains brought by severe tropical storm “Egay” (international name: Linfa).
In an update posted by the Philippine Information Agency on Sunday, Acting Mayor Hermenegildo Gualberto said that Egay caused flooding in many parts of the city.
Gualberto said that the suspension of classes was implemented to ensure the safety of students.
According to the latest weather bulletin from the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) at 5 p.m., public storm signal no. 1 is up over La Union province.
Egay is expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Wednesday afternoon.
