Pangasinan town mayor hurt in collision

DAGUPAN CITY — The mayor of Bugallon town in Pangasinan province was hurt Saturday night, July 4, when his vehicle collided with a passenger van in Lingayen town, police said Sunday.

Bugallon Mayor Jumel Espino, son of Gov. Amado Espino Jr., and Joseph Mark Steven Espino were passengers of a Nissan pickup driven by Amado John Jefferson Espino, the provincial police office said.

According to the police report, Espino was slightly injured from the incident that occurred along Barangay Tonton in Lingayen at about 11:50 p.m.

Espino’s pickup was driving to Lingayen when it crashed into a Toyota Hi-Ace traveling on the opposite lane of the national highway .

Police said the Espinos were treated in a hospital in Lingayen town.

The van driver, whose identity was not immediately known, was taken to the Lingayen District Hospital for treatment.
