Pagasa: Rain pummeling parts of Metro Manila, Rizal, Laguna
The weather bureau has issued a rainfall warning Sunday morning for parts of Metro Manila, Rizal, Laguna, Cavite and Batangas.
Rain spawned by the southwest monsoon (habagat) is forecasted to pour from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., said the bulletin issued by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
Pagasa said the habagat was being enhanced by tropical storm Egay, which has stayed almost stationary for the last seven hours over Isabela in the northeastern part of Luzon.
The rainfall bulletin issued at 8 a.m. raised the yellow rainfall warning over Cavite and Batangas.
Pagasa also reported flooding in low lying areas affected by light to moderate rain, specifically in parts of Rizal, Las Pinas, Paranaque, Muntinlupa, Taguig and Laguna.
