DPWH: Weekend road works in QC, Pasig

The Department of Public Works and Highways has scheduled reblocking works on two roads in Quezon City and another major thoroughfare in Pasig City this weekend.

In an advisory on Thursday, DPWH-National Capital Region office said the road works would be conducted on Payatas Road (from Bicol Street to Visayas Street) and along Commonwealth Avenue (from the Commonwealth market extension overpass to Bicol-Leyte overpass), both in Quezon City; and on C-5 Road (from the Petron Central Depot to Lanuza Street) in Pasig.

The work will start at 10 p.m. Friday and end around 5 a.m. Monday, the agency added.

Meanwhile, with the recent shelving of the P3.74-billion rehabilitation of Edsa, the DPWH said it would have do with piecemeal repairs on the 23-km highway, the busiest in the country.

The weekend reblocking activities will continue but still subject to the approval of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, said Elizabeth Pilorin, head of the DPWH Public Information Division. Jerry E. Esplanada
