The Senate began on Wednesday its investigation into the reported suspicious claims of hospitals and clinics with the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) amounting to P2 billion.
Present in the hearing of the Senate blue ribbon committee joint with the committee on health both being headed by Senator Teofisto Guingona III were PhilHealth officials led by its president and chief executive officer, Alexander Padilla.
Padilla, in a press conference last May, said that at least four healthcare institutions were already being investigated by PhilHealth and the Department of Health (DOH) over said questionable claims that have allegedly doubled over the last two years.
