Senator Grace Poe has allegedly decided to run for president in 2016, Senator Antonio Trillanes IV said on Tuesday, citing own sources.
“Based on the information we have, she (Poe) has made her decision to run for president with Sen. Chiz as her vice president and they’re going at it as independents so that’s their plan and we’ll just wait for a formal announcement which they will make probably in September,” Trillanes said over ABS-CBN News Channel’s (ANC) “Headstart.”
Chiz is Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero, who earlier said that he would run for vice president should he decide to seek a higher post in 2016.

INQUIRER.net tried but failed to get the side of Poe and Escudero on Trillanes’ statement.
Unlike Poe and Escudero, who have yet to publicly declare their plans for 2016, Trillanes is bent on running for vice president in 2016.

Trillanes said he would pursue his vice presidential bid with or without the support of his group, the Nacionalista Party (NP), or even if it would mean running against his own party mate, Senate Majority Leader Alan Peter Cayetano.
“Yes. That’s who we are. I was never afraid of losing,” he said.
All four senators — Trillanes, Cayetano, Poe and Escudero — will continue to serve until 2016 even if they run and lose in the upcoming elections. Arianne F. Merez, INQUIRER.net trainee/IDL
