LIU MURDER CASE
THE CEBU Provincial Police Office yesterday said they believe Bernard Liu knew his killers.
“Kaila ra gyud ni sa biktima ang gapatay niya,” Senior Supt. Patrocinio Comendador Jr. said.
He said they are looking into the angle of robbery since the whistleblower lost his .45 pistol and a metal urn containing his father’s ashes that has a gold bracelet on top.
However, Comendador said they are not closing other motives behind the killing.
Talisay City police will follow up the operation.
Liu and his co-employee Ananias Dy implicated two Cebu businessmen in a 2001 congressional hearing on illegal drugs.
Dy was killed on July 2006 while Liu was discovered dead outside his residence in Talisay City last week with ligature marks around his neck.
Autopsy showed he was killed more than two weeks ago but not more than a month./correspondent gabriel bonjoc
