Binay can face Senate instead of spending for ads–Pimentel
Senator Aquilio “Koko” Pimentel III is wondering why Vice President Jejomar Binay had to spend for advertisements instead of facing the Senate to answer all the allegations being hurled at him.
Pimentel said he saw and read the one-whole page ad that came out in a newspaper, attacking the Senate blue ribbon subcommittee which is investigating the corruption allegations against the Vice President.
Asked why he thinks Binay had to come up with the said ad, the senator said: “Hindi ko po alam bakit imbes na humarap na lang sa subcomittee, gumastos pa ng napakalaking halaga. Hindi ko po alam.”
“Sa tingin ko baka nararamdaman nila ang effect nung partial report kaya naglabas na sila ng ad,” said Pimentel, who chairs the subcommittee.
(I think they can already feel the effect of the partial report that’s why they came out with the ad)
He was referring to the subcommittee report that recommended, among others, the filing of graft and plunder charges against Binay and other personalities involved in the alleged overpricing of the Makati City Hall 2 parking building.

Told that the newspaper ad could have been Binay’s response to some people calling him to answer the allegations against him, Pimentel said: “Tanungin na lang natin sya bakit gumastos pa sya (Let’s just ask him why he had to spend).” AU
