Wife of PLDT exec found dead

The wife of a Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co. (PLDT) executive was found dead on Sunday morning in Laguna, three days after she was reported missing.

The body of Gloria Gonzales, 47, was found inside a Toyota Innova parked outside a house owned by Chester Gerodias in Biñan City.

Gonzales was the wife of PLDT vice president and head of corporate relationship management John Gonzales.

Initial reports from the Calabarzon police said that authorities received a call about an abandoned vehicle on Bautista Street in Biñan at 9 a.m. on Sunday.

Police said an unpleasant smell was coming from the van.

“When the vehicle was examined, a liquid with an unpleasant smell was leaking from inside and a suspicious package was seen in the back portion of the vehicle,” the police report said.

Investigators forced open a door of the vehicle, finding a woman’s body wrapped in a blanket which was identified to be Gonzales based on IDs found.

Her face, hands and feet were reportedly covered in plaster.

Gonzales was last seen alive on June 25 at 1:25 p.m. as she left her house in Parañaque City. She was wearing a blue-checkered shirt and denim pants and got in the Innova.

The last mobile transmission from the victim’s phone was detected in Barangay (village) Acasia, Silang, Cavite, at 2:30 p.m. of that day.
