3 women nabbed for trying to sneak ‘shabu’ inside prison

Three women were arrested for trying to sneak in suspected shabu inside the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) in Muntinlupa City on Friday.

Jail officials identified them as Chona Montilla, Ligaya Reyes and Melissa Angge.

NBP Supt. Richard Schwarzkopf said two sachets of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) were found inside Montilla’s bag during the customary checking of belongings of jail visitors at around 8:20 a.m.

When asked by guards, Montilla claimed the bag was Reyes’, Schwarzkopf said.

“She also said Montilla and Angge connived to get the drugs in,” he added.

He said all three women, who were supposed to visit detainees, would be turned over to the police so charges could be filed against them.

The suspected shabu would be turned over to the National Bureau of Investigation.
