Santiago hails PDI publisher’s election to ICC
SENATOR Miriam Defensor Santiago hailed the election of the Philippine Daily Inquirer publisher Raul Pangalangan to the International Criminal Court (ICC).
“My heartfelt congratulations to Dean Raul Pangalangan, my student at the UP College of Law, for his election as judge to the International Criminal Court,” Santiago said.
“May he continue to make the nation proud by practicing law in the grand manner,” she added.
Pangalangan will fill up the seat vacated by Santiago after she resigned from the ICC in June 2014 due to health reasons.
He graduated cum laude for political science at the University of the Philippines where he also received his law degree. He received his Doctoral of Juridical Science at Harvard Law School in 1990.
He will hold office at the ICC until 2021.
