Employees and teachers of the Department of Education (DepEd) will expect bigger paychecks soon.
The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has recently issued the Special Allotment Release Order to cover the release of P14 billion for the Productivity Enhancement Incentive (PEI) of eligible employees and teachers.
Education Secretary Bro. Armin Luistro FSC has already directed all field offices of the department to prepare the payroll of its employees.
Employees are eligible for the PEI if they “have rendered at least a total or an aggregate of four (4) months of service as of May 31, 2015, including leaves of absence with pay, and who are still in the service as of May 31, 2015; and obtained at least a satisfactory performance rating,” as stipulated in the Executive Order (EO) 181 signed by President Benigno III Aquino last May.
The one-time PEI amounts to an employee’s one-month salary.
DepEd said that employees who have worked for less than four months as of May 31 will still get their PEI after they completed their four months of service and gained satisfactory ratings before the end of the year.
PEI for government employees will be released starting June 1 onwards, Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Abigail Valte earlier said.
