Bomb scare briefly disrupts work at Ombudsman
WORK at the Office of the Ombudsman was briefly disrupted before noon on Wednesday due to a “minor bomb scare.”
According to a source in the antigraft unit, a bag was left unattended on the third floor of the Ombudsman.
A bomb-sniffing dog of the Ombudsman security sat beside the bag, prompting the authorities to call the bomb squad.
The personnel were asked to vacate the building for 30 minutes past noon before resuming normal operations at 12:45 p.m.
“When our (own) bomb sniffing dog checked it, the dog sat beside the bag so the bomb squad was called,” the official who asked not to be named for lack of authority, said.
“Employees were asked to go down to the flag pole area for around 30 minutes. Operations went back to normal at around 12:45 p.m.,” the official said.
