Sen. Bongbong Marcos misses BBL event due to food poisoning
Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. was not able to attend an event at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines at Sta. Mesa, Manila on Monday due to food poisoning.
He was invited to speak before students about the Bangsamoro Basic Law but his eldest son, Ferdinand Alexander Marcos, was the one who read his father’s prepared speech.
The younger Marcos explained the reason why his father could not come to the event.
He said that he took his father out for dinner Sunday night for Father’s Day where he became sick due to food poisoning.
“Unfortunately, my father fell sick this morning after I took him out for a Father’s Day dinner last night. He was a victim of food poisoning,” he said.
The event, which is a consultation of the senator with students on the proposed Bangsamoro Basic Law, was supposed to start at 10:30 a.m.
The 21-year-old Marcos is an International Politics student at the City University London.
The younger Marcos was also asked by members of the media on his views regarding political dynasties, saying that it is not unique in the country and that it is a “natural progression” for families involved in politics.
