Fire hits Boracay public market

ILOILO CITY, Philippines — Fire has hit the public market of Boracay Island, in Aklan province.

The fire, which was reported around 2:50 p.m., razed large portions of the Talipapa Bukid near the main road. The market is surrounded by boarding houses.

Firefighters were still conducting operations but the fire had been controlled as of 5 p.m., according to the Bureau of Fire Protection in Boracay.

There were no reports of casualties and injuries.
