Life is anything but normal for John Renz, a 5-year-old boy who has a lymphoma or tumor on his chest.
He was supposed to have the growth removed but the operation has been put on hold on the advice of doctors at Philippine Children’s Medical Center in Quezon City.
“Everything will depend on the results of the fifth CT scan,” his mother, Catherine Dancel, told the Inquirer.
But while they wait for the go-signal from their son’s doctors, John Renz must undergo a CT scan every three months at the National Kidney Institute.
For every test, the couple need P15,000, an amount beyond their means since Catherine is just an inventory clerk for an apparel store while her husband, Kerby, is still looking for work.
“I thank God that I have a job and I have a mother who looks after my only son but we need a lot of money for the CT scan and my son’s medical expenses which is why I am asking for help from your readers,” Catherine said in her letter to the Inquirer.
