A couple believed to be the supplier of “shabu” dealers in Cavite province was arrested Monday by anti-narcotics operatives in a buy-bust operation.

After weeks of surveillance, the Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force (AIDSOTF) caught Norodin Saripada and his wife Ma. Margielyn selling shabu or metamphetamine hydrochloride estimated to be worth half a million pesos in front of a restaurant along Molino Road in Bacoor.

In a press briefing at Camp Crame, Chief Inspector Roque Merdegia Jr., AIDSOTF spokesperson, said the suspects are believed to be the source of small-time drug peddlers in Dasmariñas, Bacoor, Imus and other areas in Cavite.

With their three-year-old son, the couple sold 500 grams of shabu during a transaction with an undercover agent inside their car around 2:20 p.m.

Police are also looking into the possible link of the suspects to drug syndicates operating in Cavite province.

Merdegia said the couple, although armed with a caliber .45 pistol, did not resist arrest.

The arrested suspects will face charges for violating sections of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
