Four employees of a restaurant at the SM Mall of Asia – San Miguel by the Bay in Pasay City were reportedly locked inside their workplace after mall management shut the establishment Tuesday dawn over supposed contract issues.
In a report by Radyo Inquirer 990AM, Bawod Bar and Restaurant owner Opalyn Amistoso said four of her employees were unable to get out of the place for two hours until police arrived and intervened.
Mall management reportedly locked up the restaurant over alleged violations of its lease contract.
Citing Amistoso’s statement, Radyo Inquirer reported that Bawod still had an existing contract with SM, but the mall’s management insisted that it vacate the commercial spot.
Among those reportedly trapped inside the restaurant was bartender Jose Basco.
Amistoso has filed a complaint before the Pasay police, the report added.
INQUIRER.net sought the side of the mall management but it said it had yet to receive full details of the incident, adding that its legal team was “personally handling” the case. With reports from Ruel Perez, Radyo Inquirer 990AM
