‘Quiel’ leaves 18 dead in Bulacan-disaster agency

MANILA, Philippines – Typhoon Quiel (international codename: Nalgae) left 18 people dead in Bulacan alone, a 990AM report said Monday.

Citing data culled by the Provincial Disaster Risk and Reduction Council in Bulacan, the report said that most of the victims drowned, were electrocuted or killed after being hit by falling trees.

Many were also injured after stepping on debris while wading in floodwaters, said the report.
