Makati unveils traffic plan for areas affected by Skyway project
Makati officials have come up with a traffic plan for areas in the city affected by the ongoing Skyway Stage 3 project which aims to link the North and South Luzon expressways.
The P26.5-billion, 14.8-km elevated expressway will run from Gil Puyat Avenue in Makati City to Balintawak in Quezon City.
In Makati, the project will affect the stretch of Osmeña Avenue from Pablo Ocampo Street up to the Magallanes Interchange.
City transport consultant Ernesto Camarillo said they came up with the traffic plan as “Osmeña Avenue is one of the four entry and exit points in Makati with a volume of 115,000 vehicles passing daily, along with Edsa, C5 and Roxas Boulevard.”
He added that two lanes in both directions of the busy road would remain open, as well as the Don Bosco ramp and Skyway entry and exit ramps on Arnaiz Avenue.
The city government has also opened additional access roads on Osmeña to let northbound vehicles use Medina Street. Private motorists may take this route when going to Ayala Avenue via Dela Rosa Street. When coming from the South Luzon Expressway, motorists may take the C-5/Kalayaan Avenue route.

They can also continue going northward on Osmeña, turn right on Dela Rosa and cross Chino Roces going to Ayala.

Southbound vehicles from Osmeña bound for the central business district should turn left on Zobel Roxas Street, right on Kamagong Street and turn right on Ayala Avenue Extension.
Trucks and buses traversing Osmeña are advised to use the Osmeña–Buendia flyover, although northbound buses and trucks passing through the Skyway/South Luzon Expressway will not be allowed to go beyond Magallanes Exit.
Buses headed for the Light Rail Transit Taft-Buendia station can make a U-turn at a designated point on Osmeña near the Makati-Manila boundary in the Zobel Roxas area.
For buses coming from Taft-Buendia which are headed south via SLEx and Skyway, they can take Gil Puyat Avenue, turn right on Edison, turn left on Rockefeller or Arnaiz Avenue and exit on Osmeña. Trucks and buses from Manila using Osmeña should use the Osmeña-Buendia flyover.
