LUCENA CITY—An estimated P3-million worth of “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride) was seized by police operatives from two suspected big-time drug peddlers in Calauag, Quezon province, early on Thursday, a police official said.
Senior Supt. Ronaldo Genaro Ylagan, Quezon provincial police director, said lawmen, armed with a search warrant, raided the hideout of the suspects, Crisanto Narvaez Reil and Jamil Saringala Sabdula, at 8:30 a.m. in Barangay (village) Sta Maria, Calauag.
The raiding policemen found several plastic sachets containing a total of 254 grams of the white crystalline substance believed to be shabu estimated to have a street value of P2,997,200, drug paraphernalia and unspecified amount of cash believed to be from the sale of prohibited drug, Ylagan said.
He said the suspects were known drug pushers in Calauag and neighboring towns and had long been under police surveillance.
The suspects were now detained at the Calauag police jail, he said.
