Tax Court allows Mikey Arroyo’s Hong Kong trip
THE Court of Tax Appeals has granted the bid of former Ang Galing Pinoy Representative Juan Miguel “Mikey” Arroyo to travel to Hong Kong.
Arroyo will be going to China’s Special Administrative Region from June 20 to June 26.
However, the purpose of his travel was not indicated in the CTA resolution.
The former lawmaker’s travel shall be subject to certain conditions, including posting of a travel bond, strictly following his itinerary and personally submitting a photocopy of his passport showing a stamp from the Bureau of Immigration upon his arrival.
Arroyo is facing three counts of violation of the National Internal Revenue Code (NIRC).
The BIR pegged his tax liability to at least P73.85 million inclusive of surcharges and interest. AC
