While other prospective presidential candidates are hogging the headlines, the administration’s Liberal Party (LP) is quietly “praying for guidance” before it declares in July its standard-bearer for 2016, Senate President Franklin Drilon said on Thursday.
Drilon, vice chairman of LP, said the party will announce its presidential bet after the President’s State of the Nation Address next month.
Asked what the party has been doing leading to the announcement of tis candidate, Drilon said, “Pray for guidance.”
“We’re still continuing with the organization to strengthen our party…,” he said during a weekly forum at the Senate.
While he refused to name the possible LP bet, Drilon had repeatedly said that Interior Secretary Manuel “Mar” Roxas II would be the party’s standard-bearer in 2016.
