Los Demonyos, Pañeros advance to IBP hoop semifinals
THE LOS DEMONYOS of Bads Del Prado and Pañeros led by Nilo Balorio edged out separate foes while league-pacesetter Super Idols of Bong Pepito maintained its supremacy last Saturday at the close of the quarterfinal round of the 7th IBP-2011 Governor’s Cup basketball tournament at the Capitol Parish gym along Escario St.Cebu City.
Los Demonyos escaped Bhutakalz, 75-74 while Pañeros nipped Los Eagles of Kit Enriquez, 57-55.
Richard Bauzon and Lito Ortiz led Los Demonyos with 18 and 16 points, respectively.
Van Ligutan paced Bhutakalz with 25 points.
Ruel Juban topped Pañeros with 12 points.
In the third game, the current league-leader Super Idols trounced Primos Inter Pares, 79-72.
Meanwhile, Pecandela Law Firm won by default over Jodin.
The victories completed the semifinal cast that is composed of Super Idols, Pecandela, Los Demonyos and Pañeros. /pr
