Only 220 out of 1,290 pass jail officer exams

ONLY 220 out of the 1,290 who took the penology officer examination for second level ranks in the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology passed the test.

The Civil Service Commission said 17 percent of the examinees would be conferred civil service eligibility for passing the examination held last March 22.

The penology officer eligibility is a second level eligibility requirement for second level ranks in the BJMP and other functionally related positions.

In a statement, the CSC clarified that the penology officer eligibility did not include ranks under the Philippine National Police. The examination was conducted in eight regions.

Metro Manila had the highest passing rate at 19 percent, or 69 passers out of 346 examinees.

Central Visayas followed with an 18 percent passing rate or 22 passers out of 116 examinees, and the Bicol region came in third with 17 percent or 44 passers out of 251 examinees.

Christian Benri Resullar from Central Visayas led the new penology officer eligibles with a 90.50 rating, followed by Eric Catte from the Ilocos region and Kennedy Abarca from Metro Manila, who both got a 90.00 rating.

Ma. Cecilia Veneracion from Metro Manila came in third with a rating of 89.00.

The rest of the top ten examinees are: Adeloga Dacanay of Metro Manila with a rating of 88.25; Daryll Magundayao of Metro Manila, 88.00; Arthur Jan Fernandez of Metro Manila and Dante Sumaguila Jr. of Caraga, 87.75;

Wilbur Forayang Jr. of Ilocos region, Jan Rey Maghuyop of Zamboanga Peninsula and Edmar Cornejo of Metro Manila, 86.75; Grema Nina Morales of Davao region, 86.50; John Henry Barrameda of Bicol region, 86.25; Maria Teresa Olpindo of Davao region, Feliza Ann Manaog and Marshall Diomampo both of Metro Manila, 86.00.

Passers may claim their certificate of eligibility at CSC regional offices from June 3 onwards.

The CSC said examinees could check on their test results using the Online Civil Service Examination Result Generation System at www.csc.gov.ph . The complete list of passers is also posted on the CSC website, as well as the guidelines for claiming the certificate of eligibility. SFM/ABC
