ELMER ROSEL and Cristy Tutor dominated Saturday’s 4th leg of the Columbia Eco Trail Run held in barangay Budlaan, Cebu City.
Rosel was the best among the males as he completed the 10K trail run in an hour, 16 minutes and 46 seconds.
Tutor ruled the female category by crossing the finish line in 1:41:07 .
The 4th leg entailed trail runners to negotiate an uphill trail that has a 60-degree ascent, approximately two kilometers of river trekking and all rough roads.
Rounding up the top three in the male category were Charlie Berberio (1:30:50) and Anthony Nicart (1:30:54 ).
In the distaff side, Joy Ingrid Basa (2:28:10) finished second while Cebu Daily News sports columnist and ABS-CBn TV Patrol anchor Haide Acuna (2:39:37) wound up third.
Sweet Merced of ROX Ayala said that the 4th leg attracted about 100 participants. It was more than 50 percent better than the number of participants who took part in the 1st leg last March at the Family Park.
Merced said a 5th leg is sure to be held but the venue and date could not yet be established. This because they will have to give way to the Nov. 6 Trail Masters in Bukidnon./CORRESPONDENT MARS G. ALISON
